I think I have had mental and emotional challenges for most of my life. An old therapist who had meant well suggested that some of my behavior and the way I had breakdowns might be psychotic. That was years ago and although it was embarassing for me to hear what she said I began to take her suggestion seriously and read about it on my own. I read that psychosis was caused by chromium and Thiamine deficiency. Medicine made things worse and I cannot take supplements that someone might find in GNC or Vitamin Shoppe for the same reason so I read where I could find these ingredients in food.
Peas and Brewers yeast has lots of chromium and thiamin.
I bought baby food peas becasue they are easy and fast, small and convenient to eat right away. And portable. I bring it with me when I leave the house.
Brewers yeast is easy to mix into it... maybe 2 tablespoons.
I take it just like that becasue i already know I will feel better almost right away. It works for me. These two food sources are very high in these vitamins and minerals. I come back to being myself. I feel better. I feel comfortable and at ease again. I do not eat this regularly as preventative because too much of anything is not good either. But I am getting better and better at noticing how I feel and the subtlies and what nutrient I might be low on and how much this affects my behavior.
The peas and brewers yeast I take when I just feel really angry and overloaded and can't get my thoughts to make sense.
The other thing I use often is goat cheese yogurt by Liberte.... this is very easy to digest and I noticed a very close relation to my emotional health and how long something sits in my stomach making pressure on mywhole abdomen from undigested food. I mix 2 tablespoons of organic blackstrap molasses. Here I get natural Calcium from the yogurt and protein with loads of magnesium from the blackstap. Don't give too much blackstap. It is also a laxative which can be helpful in small amounts.
Please write if you tried any natural ways to heal yourself or your children. When I say heal I mean just to bump ourselves back into nutritional alignment with what our bodies may be deficient in and just feel better.
3 years ago this amazing mom gave me the idea that it would work when she used spinach to calm her child who had felt nervous from time to time. That works too by the way but for me i have to eat a whole can.
Also, for me, any sugar and all types of sugar cause bad symptoms. I stay away and try to keep my blood sugar constant with homemade tasty oatmeal meals I found on the internet.
